We’re back from the Summit on Dynamic Spectrum Access at the Singapore Island Country Club (SICC), Singapore, and excited to share our new status as a “founding member” of the Dynamic Spectrum Alliance (DSA)—a consortium of companies and organizations involved in support of wireless technology innovation!
SICC—touted as one of the “oldest and grandest” country clubs in Singapore—is absolutely beautiful; impressive indoor facilities are scattered across nearly 660 acres of sprawling hills, small lakes/water features, and lush vegetation. And just like so many others here in the United States, SICC’s terrain has made Internet access nearly impossible—leading them to deploy a TV White Space broadband network.
The pilot is part of the Singapore White Spaces Pilot Group, and announced in conjunction with the Dynamic Spectrum Alliance. Jim Carlson had the opportunity to speak at the event, joining some notable representatives from companies including Microsoft, Neul, Spectrum Bridge and government officials from the FCC and US Agency of International Development, just to name a few.
The Dynamic Spectrum Alliance and Singapore White Spaces Pilot Group are just a few big steps in a great direction for TV White Spaces and global connectivity.
